CFL Söderhamn
CFL (Centre for Flexible Learning) is the centre for all types of adult and distance education in the municipality of Söderhamn, Sweden.
CFL had about 60 full time staff and 700 students in part- or fulltime studies on various levels, from basic education up to university level.
CFL organises all training for immigrants, SFI (Swedish for immigrants) but also vocational training for immigrants.
CFL is a division of the Labour market board and the board is responsible for all support to unemployed youths (18-25 years old) in the city. CFL has coordinated many local and regional projects, both EU (Socrates, Leonardo) and domestic.
CFL is one of life adult learning centres that has been selected as "best practices" in Europe by the study "Developing local learning centres(2006, Research voor beleid/university of Leiden/ESREA)" initiated by the European commission (DG Education and culture).
CFL (Centre for Flexible Learning) will be responsible to help the University of Milan to collect relevant materials (papers, research reports ect.) on second generation of migrants and to implement the training course for teachers which will involve also young adult of second generation of migrants.
CFL will involve the staff and the students/clients that belongs to the Labour market board programme for unemployed (18-25 years old) and the SFI (swedish for immigrants) programme. CFL will be responsible for the website and contribute to the dissemination activities.
The CFL and the labour market board is right now working close together with the local employment office and the social insurance office in a ESF funded project with the aim to establish a cooperation between them and develop a “one stop shop” for unemployed youth and the results from this project will be useful in GRU project and facilitate our effort to reach this particular target group.
